Thank you for posting this blog. I've heard people say that if you go natural, you can't flat-iron/hot comb/press your hair. This is a myth and maybe the people who had bad experiences w/pressing their natural hair burned their hair, or used too much heat. Before I began perming my hair (from grade school to high school), my hair was hot combed and it was healthy and reached to the middle of my back.
I've also heard people say that even though you don't put chemicals in your hair, if you flat iron your hair, you're not "natural". I think the hardest part of one's natural hair journey is to dispell the many myths that are out there.
